The Brookline Jail Runs On Dunkin'
Wicked Local - Police Chief Dan O'Leary - "Normally what we do is we provide them breakfast if they’re here. We give them coffee and a muffin or bagel from Dunkin’ Donuts, and then dinner is usually from the pizza shops around here we go to to get a sub and a bag of chips and a drink. They can’t have cans or anything, so we put the drink in a cup. There is a budget line item, but it’s not much. We do feed them if they’re here for the weekend, they get three meals a day and if they’re arrested overnight they get breakfast."Ummmm what? Is this a joke? I get Dunks most mornings too, except I pay for it, and ya know, I'M NOT IN JAIL!!!!How in the hell is there not a better option for breakfast for the incarcerated in Brookline? More importantly, do they have to get a fresh cup of coffee with it? I understand they need to provide them with food, but wouldn't water do the trick? Do they really need the liquid elixir that is dunkin coffee? Also, I don't buy for one second that they only spent $775 on this all year long. No chance at all. I think Cait and I spend that ourselves in a month at dunks, and we barely ever order food.I lived in Allston for two years, and I avoided getting tossed in jail, but it's starting to sound pretty damn good.
