There aren't a whole lot of good things to come out of New Jersey.  The Boss, Six Flags Great Adventure, some solid beaches and the Jets.  That's about it.  But even the Jets and Giants are ashamed to tie their names to that wasteland of a state.  So imagine my surprise when I discovered that one of the greatest appetizers in all the land calls The Garden State home.To be fair, the entire experience at Mud City Crab House is fantastic.  It's a BYOB seafood place just a few miles from Long Beach Island.  There are tons of picnic tables outside, huge tanks full of live fresh seafood, and nobody looked at us funny when we rolled up to the patio with a couple plastic bags full of Keystone Lights. And while there's plenty good to say about the Crab House, the most memorable thing for me was the Jalapeno Slammers. You can laugh at the name if you want, but the Slammers are a dream come true.  Specifically, they're a seafood-loving stoner's dream come true.  Four big-ass, full grown, giant jalapenos stuffed to the gills with cream cheese and crab meat, wrapped all the way around in thick, chewy, juicy slabs of bacon.  There's a delicious dipping sauce on the side, and if Mud City wasn't BYOB and we hadn't had a thousand glasses of wine I might remember what it was.By the way, in case you glossed over it above, yes I did say that these glorious monstrosities are filled with fresh, delicious crab meat.  Delicious, perfectly-cooked crab meat.So Mud City Crab House, thanks for being you.   Don't ever change.
